The Vango Helvellyn 300 3-man tent is ideal for year-round adventures, benefiting from a self-supporting, semi-geodesic construction, that provides excellent stability, even in challenging conditions. The Helvellyn has a great strength to weight ratio. The multi-functional porch can be opened in different ways to provide the optimum shelter from the elements. Suitable for use in wet weather, this is an ideal tent for weekend camping and exploring new areas; and is Duke of Edinburgh's recommended kit. If you're expecting gale-force winds and/or blizzards, you should consider spending a little more on a more technical tent, though.
The tent is a 'semi-geodesic' self-supporting structure, which provides excellent balance between weight and stability. The flysheet and inner pitch together, so it's easy to pitch and pack - ten minutes out of the bag or back into it. It packs down to a respectable 48cm x 18cm.
The breathable polyester inner allows condensation to pass through, for a comfortable night's sleep; and a part-mesh inner door allows the breeze in on a warm night, while keeping the bugs out. O-shaped inner doors are easy to open, even one-handed.
